Lahiru Thirimanne, former Sri Lanka player, injured in a car accident

Photos of the accident have gone viral on social media, which shows remains of a mangled car and Thirimanne in an ambulance, having suffered minor injuries.

The car collided with a lorry leading to severe damage to the vehicle. However, Thirimanne walked away without any serious injury to any major body part, this gave a huge relief to his family and well-wishers.

Having retired from cricket in 2022, the 34-year-old has been away from the game, and not much is known about him.

Meanwhile, the New York Strikers franchise of the Legends Cricket Trophy 2024 assured that Thirimanne is safe.
