Playing for Income Tax, Chahal returned with the figures of 4-0-22-4, helping his team bundle out Canara Bank for a paltry 109 in 16 overs. Pallav Kumar Das, Manoj Bhandage, Rajoo Bhatkal and Milind Ramesh were his victims.

Thanks to his stunning spell, Income Tax thrashed Canara Bank by 135 runs while defending a mammoth score of 244.

Yuzvendra Chahal has not had the best of times lately. He was left out of the BCCI central contracts list that was released last month.

After featuring in the DY Patil T20 Cup, Chahal will turn up for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

The leg-spinner has had an excellent two seasons with RR as he claimed 27 wickets in IPL 2022 and won the Purple Cap and in IPL 2023, he picked 21 scalps as well. He also went past Lasith Malinga and became the all-time highest wicket-taker in IPL history and now has 187 wickets in 145 matches.

Chahal will be keen to do well in the upcoming IPL season, which might seal his place in the Indian squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, slated to be held in the West Indies and USA from June 1 to June 29.
