German professional football club, Bayern Munich, compared India's cricket sensation Virat Kohli to their legendary captain and goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, in terms of cross-sport equivalence.
Kohli is a global sporting icon and has an immense fan following across the world. The former Indian skipper ranks as the third most popular athlete on Instagram, trailing only behind football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Well, the six-time UEFA Champions League victors, Bayern Munich, reacted to a fan’s query on X, previously known as Twitter, and now it has taken the internet by storm.

Interestingly, the renowned Bundesliga powerhouse club didn’t mention the legendary MS Dhoni, who is known as one of the all-time wicketkeeping greats across the formats of the game.
The fan asked, “Name two athletes from different sports who are cross-sports equivalents to each other.”
To which the club replied by saying ‘Manuel Neuer and Virat Kohli’. They also added the goat emoticons after their names.

Notably, Virat Kohli is currently out of action as he became a father for the second time. He had opted out of the ongoing five-match Test series against England due to personal reasons.
Kohli is likely to return to action in the upcoming IPL 2024, starting on March 22, while MS Dhoni is gearing up to lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in defense of their title, possibly for the last time.
