Rishabh Pant | GettyWicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant recently recalled his India debut, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome he received after an impressive showing in the 2016 U-19 World Cup.

Pant made his India debut against England in a T20I match in February 2017 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

Reflecting on the moment when he first stepped onto the international scene, Pant admitted that there was a sense of awe that surrounded him at the beginning.

"The majority of the time I didn't feel like that. I was in awe at the beginning. You had watched all of them on TV. But they were all welcoming. Even the super seniors made me comfortable," Pant said in Star Sports 'Believe' series.

The southpaw then revealed how the senior players played their part in making him feel at home.

"It's the team culture to make everyone comfortable. And when it happens at the start, it's good. Because at 17-18 years, you know nothing about life," he added, acknowledging the nurturing environment around him.

"You have experiences of course, I tried to learn as a kid. I think all of these things are a benefit, not everyone gets experiences like these. And the things you learn from your experiences help you a lot in your life. Your brain starts reading life like that," he further stated.

On his India debut, Rishabh Pant came out to bat in the penultimate over and scored 5 not out off 3 balls with one boundary.

In that game, the Men in Blue went on to rack up a mammoth 202/6 on the board on the back of half-centuries from Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni.

Later on, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal produced a stunning spell, returning with a six-wicket haul (6/25) to script India’s thumping 75-run victory against England.
