Former Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper-batter, Sarfaraz Ahmed, has categorically denied rumors about him leaving Pakistan and migrating to the United Kingdom (UK).

However, in an interview with a Pakistani media outlet, Sarfaraz refuted these claims, saying that there is no truth to the speculations. The former skipper said he couldn’t he can’t even think about leaving Pakistan and slammed the media for spreading such fake news.

Sarfaraz Ahmed said during the interview with Samaa Digital: “I can’t even think of leaving Pakistan. Confirm before running such fabricated news. Sad to see such news.”

Sarfaraz was dropped from Pakistan’s playing XI after his poor performance in the first Test during the Australia tour, and Mohammad Rizwan replaced him in the playing XI for the remaining two games of the Test series.

Shan Masood told reporters: “We think Rizwan is ready and we can give Sarfaraz a little bit of a break to recoup and come back. It’s more of a tactical decision in terms of the conditions and what we can get out of each player.”

Notably, the Karachi-born Sarfaraz has so far amassed a total of 3031 runs in 95 Test innings for Pakistan. The veteran wicketkeeper has also 2315 runs in 117 ODIs to date.
