The equation between former India opener Gautam Gambhir and star batter Virat Kohli remains one of the most talked-about topics in Indian cricket.
While Gambhir has clarified time and again that there is no bad blood between him and Kohli, there is still a lot of speculation about their relationship.
During the IPL 2013 season, the then KKR skipper was involved in a heated face-off with the RCB batter before they were separated by other players.
A similar incident was also witnessed in last year’s IPL as ex-LSG mentor Gambhir had an ugly spat with Kohli. The altercation created quite a stir in the cricket fraternity and it continues to draw attention even after so many months.
Recently, former India seamer Praveen Kumar shared his views on this matter, saying that such altercation can take place during a cricket match.
He further added that if Gambhir scolds Kohli as an 'elder brother' then there should not be any controversy.
"It does not matter if the elder brother scolds the younger one. He is older, he can scold him," Praveen said in an interview with Lallantop.
Talking about Kohli, Praveen said, "Great guy. He knows how to score runs. That is why he has reached such heights. Working on his body, proper diet - He knows it well. He is my younger brother."
When asked about Gambhir, the 37-year-old stated: "He is elder. He is my elder brother."
During the interview, Praveen Kumar also made an outrageous claim on the art of reverse swing, specifically in the context of former Pakistan fast bowlers.
While Praveen refrained from taking anyone’s name, he said that ball-tampering was a common practice employed to generate reverse swing, and this knowledge was widespread within cricketing circles.
“Everyone does a little bit. Pakistan bowlers do it a bit more. That is what I have heard. Now, there are cameras everywhere. Earlier, all used to do it. And everyone knows as well. They would scratch it from one side, but one must know how to use that skill, too. If I scratch the ball and give to someone, one must have the skills to reverse-swing it. One has to learn that,” he remarked.
