It’s been a year since India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant met with a near-fatal car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun expressway.
On 30th December 2022, Pant’s Mercedes collided with a divider and caught fire, forcing him to break the car window and get out of the vehicle. He sustained multiple injuries in the horrific car crash.
The injuries were so severe that Rishabh underwent rehabilitation at the NCA for the entire 2023 and missed out on all the action, including the Asia Cup and the Cricket World Cup.
Right through the year, Rishabh Pant kept the fans updated about his recovery through social media posts. A year after his road accident, the southpaw shared pictures on his Instagram story, in which he can be seen working out in the gym.
Rishabh Pant was last seen in action during the tour of Bangladesh in December 2022. Mirpur Test against Bangladesh was his last appearance before he met with the accident.
While there is no clarity on his comeback yet, reports are claiming that the left-hander might return to action by early next year and will take part in the 2024 edition of Indian Premier League.
Last month, Delhi Capitals’ team director Sourav Ganguly confirmed that Pant will feature in the upcoming IPL season.
“He’s (Pant) good now. He will play in the IPL next season,” Ganguly had said in an interaction with reporters.
