Legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram slammed the strategy of the Pakistan pacers in the opening Test of the three-match Test series against Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth. He shared his thoughts after Australia won the Perth Test by 360 runs against Pakistan.

The former Pakistan captain highlighted that the bowlers from the subcontinent struggle with speed and bounce on the Australian tracks, as he shared crucial advice for the touring side.

Wasim Akram told Fox Sports: “Australia is a different ballgame. The Kookaburra ball after 15 overs, doesn't do anything. They want you to bowl short. They get the hang of the bounce. They can pull well. They can hook well. I think my advice to all the Pakistani bowlers is that length is the key.”

However, Akram suggested that the Pakistan players should concentrate on maintaining the right line and length to increase their chances of taking wickets as they are gearing up to take on Australia in the second Test at the MCG on December 26.

Akram signed off by saying, “The minute you get the length right, that's where you trouble the batters, not with the short balls. Don't get excited by the bounce here at the Optus Cricket Ground.”

Notably, Australia scored 487 in their first inning thanks to David Warner’s 164 and then declared their second inning at 233/5 against Pakistan. And then the hosts restricted Pakistan to 271 and 89 to win the Peth Test by 360 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series.
