No Babar Azam; Shubman Gill in top 10 Google searches in Pakistan in 2023

Former Pakistan captain and star batter Babar Azam failed to make it into the top 10 most searched people on Google in Pakistan in 2023. The list included four cricketers from Pakistan, one from India, and one from Australia.

Interestingly, Pakistan cricket’s rising star Haseebullah Khan secured the 10th spot in Google searches in Pakistan for 2023. Young cricketers Abdullah Shafique and Saud Shakeel were the 4th and 9th most searched people in Pakistan, respectively. PSL star Usman Khan grabbed the 5th position in the list.

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is ranked 7th, and India's young batting sensation Shubman Gill took the 8th spot in the top 10 most searched people on Google in 2023 in Pakistan.

The sixth position was taken by Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar.

In addition, Pakistan vs. New Zealand, Pakistan vs Afghanistan, and Pakistan vs Australia are the top three cricket matches that are most searched for in Pakistan.

Other notable matches were India v New Zealand, Pakistan v the Netherlands, India v Pakistan, Australia v England, India v Australia, Pakistan v Sri Lanka, and England v Pakistan.

Notably, the Pakistan cricket team is currently on the Australia tour, where they are scheduled to play a three-match Test series against the Kangaroos under Shan Masood. The first Test between Australia and Pakistan got underway in Perth on Thursday, December 14.
