Team India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli created a buzz on social media with a surprising Instagram post, where he revealed how the 'mock chicken tikka' he had eaten was tasty.

Well, some fans were confused by this revelation, but there's a twist to the story that not everyone caught on to. A few years ago, Kohli made a significant lifestyle change by adopting a vegetarian diet.

The former Indian captain had also revealed that he gave up non-vegetarian food due to a cervical spine issue, as his body was producing too much uric acid.

“I stopped consuming meat right before the England Test series. During the 2018 South Africa tour, I faced a cervical spine problem while playing a test match. It compressed a nerve to my right hand’s little finger, causing tingling and numbness. Nights became sleepless, and the pain was unbearable,” Kohli said in an Instagram live session in 2020.

Making adjustments to his diet was crucial, and this change was one of the most significant. So, when Kohli posted about having 'mock chicken tikka' on Instagram, some fans were puzzled. However, there's a side to the story that certain fans didn't fully understand.

Kohli shared a picture of himself savoring mock chicken tikka’ in his recent Instagram story, which is not animal-based but plant-based.

This 'mock chicken tikka’ was a plant-based alternative that swaps traditional chicken for soya. Unlike the usual chicken tikka, this mock version is entirely made from soy.
