He may have called time on his international cricket career in 2020, but MS Dhoni’s popularity hasn’t gone down one bit.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers produced by India, Dhoni continues to appear on billboards and on television endorsing different brands.
Nowadays, several brands and influencers are sharing Dhoni’s special connection with No. 7 on social media. It is pertinent to mention here that the former India skipper dons No. 7 jersey and he was born on the seventh of July (the seventh month of the year).
‘Thala for a reason’ trend referring to Dhoni’s connection with N. 7 has become one of the biggest talking points on the internet these days.
On Tuesday (December 12), Google India also joined the trend and shared the special traits of No. 7.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Google India asked its search engine: “What is special about number 7?”
The popular search engine showed the first result that stated, “There are seven colors in the Rainbow, seven days in a week, seven wonders of the World, seven major seas, and even the total number of continents are seven!”
It added: “No other number is having so many connotations and references in many different fields like the number seven. So, it’s a very important number indeed.”
While Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, he continues to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He captained CSK to a record-equalling fifth IPL title earlier this year.
Dhoni will return to action during the 2024 edition of IPL. He underwent a knee surgery soon after the completion of the IPL 2023 season and has made a good recovery so far.
