“Tough & lot’s of learning,” Rishabh Pant describes the year 2023 with a social media post

Rishabh Pant | XIndia wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant continues to be on the road to recovery after surviving a horrific car crash.

On 30th December 2022, Pant’s car collided with a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun expressway and caught fire, forcing him to break the car window and get out of the vehicle. As a result, the southpaw sustained multiple injuries.

The injuries were so severe that Rishabh underwent rehabilitation at the NCA for the entire 2023 and missed out on all the action, including the Asia Cup and the Cricket World Cup.

As the year 2023 is about to come to an end, Rishabh Pant described it as “tough” for him in a post on social media platform X.

“Tough & lot’s of learning,” Pant wrote in reply to a post, asking to explain the year 2023 in one word.

Rishabh Pant was last seen in action during the tour of Bangladesh in December 2022. Mirpur Test against Bangladesh was his last appearance before he met with the accident.

While there is no clarity on his comeback yet, reports are claiming that the left-hander might return to action by early next year and will take part in the 2024 edition of Indian Premier League.

Pant has played 33 Tests, 30 ODIs and 66 T20Is for India, amassing 4000+ international runs with six centuries. He was instrumental in India’s Test series win on Australian soil in 2020-21.
