The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has reportedly claimed that Byju's didn't pay INR 158 crores. The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has sent a notice to Byju's after BCCI logged the complaint.

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has issued a notice to the education-related firm, giving them two weeks to respond to the petition filed by BCCI. The BCCI has filed a petition stating that Rs 158 crore is due on Byju's as an operational creditor under Section 9 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016.

As reported by PTI, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) stated: “It is stated that the general notice was issued to BYJU’s via email dated January 6, 2023, with a default amount of Rs. 158 crores, excluding TDS as reflected.”

The NCLT added, “Two weeks are granted to the respondent's (Byju’s) to file a reply, and one week thereafter is granted to the applicant's (BCCI) to file a rejoinder, if any, after duly serving the copy on the other side.”

The BCCI had already informed the NCLT that they sent a notice to Byju's on January 6, 2023, via email. The notice indicated a default amount of Rs 158 crore, excluding TDS. Notably, Byju's joined the BCCI as Team India’s jersey sponsor back in 2019. They were replaced by Dream11 in 2023.
