“Stay safe”- CSK’s Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana pray for Chennai due to cyclone Michaung

Cyclone Michaung expected to make landfall in Andhra Pradesh and affect Chennai as well.

Pathirana and Theekshana prayed for Chennai amidst Cyclone Michaung | XSeveral districts of Indian city of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, and state of Andhra Pradesh is facing one of the worst natural challenges as Cyclone Michaung is expected to make landfall near Bapatla in Andhra Pradesh.

The districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpattu and Andhra’s Tirupati, Nellore, Prakasam, Bapatla, Krishna, West Godavari, Konaseema, and Kakinada have been under red alert since yesterday. Authorities braced themselves for the worst as heavy rains pelted Chennai.

Chennai airport was closed and a viral video showing parked cars being washed away amid heavy rains in Tamil Nadu’s Pallikaranai has surfaced online.

Reacting to the same, Sri Lankan cricketers Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana shared their concern for the Chennai city, Notably, both cricketers play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise in the Indian Premier League.

They shared their concern on X and asked the citizens of Chennai to remain indoors and stay safe.

“Stay safe, my Chennai! The storm may be fierce, but our resilience is stronger. Better days are just around the corner. Take care, stay indoors, and look out for one another,” Matheesha Pathirana posted.
