Fans were expecting to see another heated on-field battle between Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq during the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, but they dashed everyone's hopes.

Kohli and Naveen had a nasty exchange during the Royal Challengers Bangalore versus Lucknow Super Giants game in the Indian Premier League 2023. After this infamous verbal spat, the Indian and Afghan star took subtle digs at each other on social media.

Even wherever Naveen played, he was treated with Virat Kohli chants by fans, and the same was true during the India versus Afghanistan World Cup 2023 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. However, Naveen and Kohli buried their differences in that match by hugging each other and decided to move forward.

Now, a month after this CWC 2023 match, the Afghanistan pacer has opened up about his conversation with Kohli in Delhi. Naveen said it was Virat who asked him to let go of the past and settle things.

Speaking with his IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG): Naveen ul Haq said: “We were supported by fans in all the games except our clash with India. We felt like home.”

He added, “Virat told me to finish it and I said ok. He told me that I won’t hear his name anymore and fans will support me. I will always stand by my teammates. Be it at national level or franchise cricket.”

Naveen further said that the Afghanistan team got a lot of support in India during their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign and the felt like home here. He signed off by saying, “We got support in every game apart from that one game against India. Rather than that, we got a home kind of a feeling.”
