Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers | ScreengrabFondly known as Mr. 360 degree, South African legend AB de Villiers shares a very healthy camaraderie with India’s star batter Virat Kohli.

During his time with IPL franchise RCB, De Villiers built a strong friendship with Kohli. The duo was involved in some memorable partnerships and developed a mutual respect for each other.

Even though De Villiers called time on his IPL career after the IPL 2021 season, his friendship with Kohli goes beyond the field.

On Saturday (October 21), AB de Villiers posted a video on social media platform X and revealed that he had sent a congratulatory message to Virat Kohli on his 48th ODI century against Bangladesh in the ongoing World Cup.

In reply, Kohli recorded a video message and thanked him for the appreciation. The former India skipper also promised De Villiers to appear on his YouTube show soon.

"Hi my Biscuit, I hope you are doing fine. Thank you so much for your kind words. Always appreciating and supporting what I do. You know, I love you and I hope you are doing well and I will see you on your show very soon. Cheers,” Kohli said.

De Villiers responded by saying: "You know, I love you too bud."

Talking about Virat Kohli’s prowess in the ongoing World Cup, he has been in terrific touch form. While the right-hander played match-winning knocks of 85 and 55* against Australia and Afghanistan respectively, he fell for a low score of 16 in India’s last outing against Pakistan.

After his rare failure against Pakistan, Kohli bounced back to hit a match-winning century (103* off 97 balls) against Bangladesh in Pune on October 19.

Kohli will be next seen in action during India’s clash against New Zealand in Dharamsala on Sunday (October 22).
