“Proud of you all champions,” Indian cricket fraternity reacts to India's 100 medal tally in Hangzhou Asian Games

The Indian contingent officially touched a historic tally of 100 medals on Saturday (October 7), much to the pride of the entire nation.

Starting the day at 95, India got their assured five medals - four in archery and one in kabaddi - to reach the century mark. Needless to say, this is India's best-ever medal haul at the Asian Games, surpassing their previous best in the 2018 edition in Jakarta by a big margin. India had won 70 medals in 2018.

The day started with Archer Jyothi Vennam and Praveen Ojas getting gold in their respective individual compound events, while the women's kabaddi team defeated Chinese Taipei in a thrilling final match to make it 100 for India.

India have so far won 25 gold medals, 35 silver medals and 40 bronze medals. The tally will grow further by the end of the day once all the gold medal matches or the final round of a few events are concluded.

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket fraternity expressed their delight as the country touched 100-medal tally in Asian Games for the first time.
