India opener Shubman Gill will enter the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 as the second-ranked batter, behind Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who is currently heading the chart.

Gill has dominated the 50-over format like no other this year. In 20 ODIs, the lanky right-hander has aggregated 1230 runs at a staggering average of 72.35 and a strike rate of 105.03 with five hundreds, which also includes a double ton against New Zealand.

With 839 rating points to his name, Shubman is trailing Babar only by 18 points. South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen occupies the third position in the rankings with 743 rating points, while Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq (728) has dropped one place to fifth.

There has been no movement in the top 10 of the ICC Men’s ODI All-rounder Rankings, with Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan leading the list with 349 rating points ahead of Mohammad Nabi (302 rating points).

Australia’s Glenn Maxwell made giant strides in the all-rounder rankings after his stunning exploits in the third ODI against India in Rajkot. Maxwell took 4/40 with his off-spin and leapfrogged 10 places to 11th in the all-rounder rankings.

Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood share the pole position in the ICC Men's ODI Bowling Rankings. The two fast bowlers are tied on 669 rating points after Siraj dropped 11 points for his tough outing against Australia in Rajkot ODI.

Siraj conceded 68 runs in his nine overs as Australia racked up 352/7 on the board to avoid the series whitewash. Hazlewood's rating remained the same (669 points) after claiming 2/42 in eight overs against India in the third ODI.
