Karun Nair | @CountyChamp/XKarun Nair, the only Indian batter to hit a Test triple ton after Virender Sehwag, slammed his maiden hundred in County cricket for Northamptonshire on Wednesday (September 20).

The 31-year-old signed a contract for the last three matches of the County Championship and displayed his class in the very first game against Warwickshire last week by scoring 78.

In the ongoing encounter with Surrey, Nair reached his century off 184 deliveries with a cheeky ramp shot.

Thanks to his stunning exploits, Northants posted a decent 351/9 on the board at  Stumps on Day 2, with Nair unbeaten on 144.

Following this game, Nair will feature in Northamptonshire’s Championship season final match against Essex from September 26 to 29.

Karun Nair has played six Tests in his career and amassed 374 runs at an average of 62.33, with the best score of 303 not out coming against England at Chepauk in 2016. He has also played two ODIs in his career against Zimbabwe.

Karun last played for India in the Dharamsala Test against Australia in March 2017.
