WATCH: Gautam Gambhir shows middle finger to fans chanting 'Kohli, Kohli'; video goes viral

Gambhir is currently in Sri Lanka to cover the Asia Cup as a commentator.

Gautam Gambhir | ScreengrabFormer India cricketer Gautam Gambhir is quite outspoken in nature. He never shies away from speaking his mind and his opinions often spark an outrage on social media.

Over the years, Gambhir has had his issues with star India batter Virat Kohli. During the IPL 2013 season, the then KKR skipper was involved in a heated face-off with the RCB batter before they were separated by other players.

A similar incident was also witnessed in this year’s IPL as LSG mentor Gambhir had an ugly spat with Kohli.

The altercation created quite a stir in the cricket fraternity and it continues to draw attention even after four months.

Recently, a video went viral on social media, in which Gambhir can be seen showing his middle finger to fans who were chanting Virat Kohli's name as he walked past them.

Gambhir was seen talking on the phone when he heard the "Kohli, Kohli" chants. The ex-opener then turned towards them and showed his middle finger.

Gautam Gambhir is currently in Sri Lanka where he is part of the commentary team for the Asia Cup 2023.

During the India versus Pakistan clash in Pallekele on Saturday (September 2), Gambhir was critical in his assessment of Kohli’s dismissal against Shaheen Afridi.

"That was a nothing shot, neither forward, neither back. I think was a bit casual. That's what you get when you play someone like Shaheen Afridi. You don't know whether to go forward or back," Gambhir said in commentary on Star Sports.
