Earlier this month, Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis travelled to New York for holidaying with his girlfriend Sarah Czaenuch.
Taking to social media site X, a street photographer named David Guerrero shared a clip of the cricketer roaming in the streets of the beautiful city in USA.
In the clip, the photographer can be seen walking up to Stoinis and his partner and asking them to pose for some pictures.
Guerrero couldn’t recognise Stoinis as he was seen asking the Aussie cricketer where he was from. “Street photography w/ this beautiful Australian Couple,” he captioned the video.
After the post went viral, the fans decided to let the photographer know that he was clicking pictures of a famous cricketer.
Cricket is not that much of a popular sport in the United States. Hence, Guerrero not being able to recognise Marcus Stoinis wasn’t quite surprising.
However, some fans still expressed surprise that the photographer had no idea about such a renowned cricketer.
One of them wrote, “David really you don’t know who is he?” In reply, Guerrero said, “No”.
Another fan wrote, “He’s an international cricketer” and also added a link to the player’s Wikipedia profile.
When a netizen asked David Guerrero how many followers he has gained since this video, the photographer replied, “300 so far”.
Later, Guerrero shared some lovely snaps of Stoinis and his girlfriend.
Marcus Stoinis had last featured in a game for Australia during the tour of Australia in March this year. The all-rounder has been named in the squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of South Africa and India.
Stoinis has also made the cut in Australia’s preliminary squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, slated to be held in India from October 5 to November 19.
