WATCH: “When we won Test match in Bangalore, stones were pelted on our bus,” Shahid Afridi makes big claim

Afridi backed the Pakistan team to tour India for the upcoming ODI World Cup.

Shahid Afridi | GettyThere is a lot of buzz surrounding the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, slated to be held in India from October 5 to November 19.

As per the schedule released by the ICC last month, the high-voltage India versus Pakistan encounter will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15. Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata are the other four venues where Pakistan’s matches have been allocated.

Meanwhile, there are reports claiming that the PCB is pushing for the country's ODI World Cup matches to be played at neutral venues.

Earlier this month, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif set-up a high level committee consisting of ministers, including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto, to decide on the country’s participation in the ODI World Cup in India later this year.

Amid the recent development, former skipper Shahid Afridi has opined that the Men in Green should travel to India and also win the World Cup as the conditions in India are almost similar to Pakistan.

Speaking to the media at a function, Afridi recalled his playing days and highlighted how the Indian crowd too created pressure on them. He also claimed that the Indian fans threw stones at the Pakistan team bus after they won a Test in Bangalore.

"We used to hit six and fours and no one used to clap for us. If Abdul Razzaq remembers, when we won the Test match in Bangalore, stones were pelted on our bus. Pressure is always there and you should enjoy that pressure,” Afridi stated.

"People are saying that Pakistan should not go to India. I am totally against it, I think we should go there and win the match," he added.
