Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan has finally broken his silence after being snubbed from the Indian Test team that was announced for the series against West Indies. Rohit Sharma will lead the side with Ajinkya Rahane named as the vice-captain of the side.
There was a lot of expectations that new faces will be tried out in West Indies in the two Tests, with the likes of KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah being unavailable due to injuries and a few others losing their form in the aftermath of WTC 2023 final.
While the BCCI has added new faces like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Mukesh Kumar to the side, Sarfaraz Khan was snubbed from the side once again.
He has scored tons of runs in domestic cricket off late. In the 2019-20 season, he had amassed 928 runs at a colossal average of 154. In the next season, he amassed 982 runs at 122.75 and then followed it up with a 556-run season in 2022/23 where he smashed three centuries.
Overall, he has managed 3505 runs in 35 appearances at an average of 79.65 with 13 tons.
In response to the snub, Sarfaraz on Friday shared a video of his highlights from the last Ranji Trophy season as an Instagram story. He thus took another dig at the BCCI and the selectors for ignoring him from the Test squad.
