Ambati Rayudu to play for Texas Super Kings in upcoming Major League Cricket

Ambati Rayudu | BCCI-IPLAmbati Rayudu, who called time on his IPL career last month, is all set to turn up for Texas Super Kings in the upcoming Major League Cricket.

The Texas side will be coached by Stephen Fleming, who has been associated with Super Kings in the IPL and SA20.

Rayudu will join CSK teammates like Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner along with South African batter David Miller as Texas Super Kings announced signings for the MLC 2023 season.

Besides Rayudu, Dwayne Bravo, who played the role of a bowling coach during CSK’s IPL 2023 triumph, will also return as a player for the MLC tournament.

Texas Super Kings have also signed Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams and South African pacer Gerald Coetzee, who played for Jo’burg Super Kings in the inaugural SA20.

The draft picks for TSK include Sami Aslam, Rusty Theron, Saiteja Mukkamalla, Milind Kumar, Cody Chetty, Calvin Savage, Zia Shahzad, Lahiru Milantha and Cameron Stevenson.

As far as the coaching staff is concerned – Fleming will be joined by the likes of Eric Simmons and Albie Morkel as his assistants. Gregory King has been named the strength and conditioning coach of the side while Lakshmi Narayanan joins the franchise as High-Performance Analyst and Tommy Simsek will be the team’s physiotherapist.

Russell Radhakrishnan, who has been managing the Chennai Super Kings for years, will now also take charge as the TKS team manager.

The Texas Super Kings will open their MLC campaign against Los Angeles Knight Riders in the tournament opener on July 13.
