Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya made his comeback to competitive cricket after a six-month break with the IPL 2022 following surgery on his back and since then, he has become a vital cog of the Indian team.

Pandya has been performing brilliantly in limited-overs cricket, and he has delivered stunning results as India's captain in the given opportunities so far. However, the star all-rounder is yet to make comeback to the Test arena, and even he also made it clear that he hasn’t yet ready for the red-ball format.

Well, the former BCCI president and former captain Sourav Ganguly believes that Pandya should come back to Test cricket while hailing the Indian all-rounder as a "very special cricketer."

Sourav Ganguly told the Times of India:There will be specialists in T20s. There's Hardik Pandya although I still feel he is an asset in Test cricket also and he should come back to Test cricket because that's what he will be remembered for. He is a specialist in ODIs and T20Is. But he is a very special cricketer.”

Notably, Pandya has so far played 11 Tests for India, while his last appearance in white came in September 2018 against England. The former skipper stressed that there is no impact of money on the player, and the players of today are hungry for success on the field.

He signed off by saying, “I think money has nothing to do with how players play. It's great that money has come into the sport and that's how it should be. But I believe the majority of the players want to play all formats as long as they are good. It's terrific to see how hungry these boys are.”
