Adam Gilchrist mistakenly listed as the richest cricketer in the world; even wealthier than Tendulkar, Dhoni, and Kohli

Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh were the other Indians on the list.

Adam Gilchrist | TwitterIn what can be called a shocking revelation, former Australia keeper-batter Adam Gilchrist was listed as the richest cricketer in the world by CEOWORLD magazine, putting him at the no.1 spot ahead of the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.

The CEOWORLD magazine’s list was shared on Twitter which showed Gilchrist at the no.1 spot in the list of the richest cricketers in the world in 2023, with an estimated wealth of $380 million. He was followed by Sachin Tendulkar ($170 mn), MS Dhoni ($115 mn), and Virat Kohli ($112mn) with Ricky Ponting ($75mn) and Jacques Kallis ($70 mn) rounding up the top five.

However, it was all a farce as it was a case of mistaken identity as cricketer Adam Gilchrist was confused with his namesake, the founder of the Australian-based global fitness empire F45.

Gilchrist himself quoted the richest cricketer in the world list and clarified the mistake made by the magazine.

He tweeted: “A case of mistaken identity here folks. Unless of course my namesake who founded F45 played cricket, in which case it’s completely accurate.”

Former Indian superstars Virender Sehwag ($40m) and Yuvraj Singh ($35m) are also in the list.
