Former Pakistani cricketers Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar are set to join countrymates Shoaib Malik and Abdul Razzaq in the Asia Lions team in the upcoming edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC 2023). The LLC 2023 is scheduled to take place from Friday, March 10 to Monday, March 20 at the Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha, Qatar.
The Asia Lions squad also have former Afghanistan captain, Asghar Afghan, and Nepal legend Paras Khadka in their ranks. TM Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Thisara Perera, Dilhara Fernando, and Isuru Udana are the representatives from Sri Lanka.
Apart from them, Rajin Saleh and Abdur Razzak of Bangladesh will also be part of the Asia Lions LLC squad.
Two more teams, World Giants and India Maharajas, will take part in the high-profile tournament and the opening game of the championship is set to take place between India Maharajas and Asia Lions.
“We hope to bring back memories for our fans with some serious cricket from their favorites legends. I am looking forward to watch legends fight for the LLC Masters title,” Ravi Shastri, Commissioner of Legends League Cricket, was quoted as saying by India Today.
6 matches will take part in the league stage and the table topper will advance directly to the final. The Eliminator on March 18 will decide the second finalist.
