Ravi Bishnoi showcased his talent for India U19 and then in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants and as a result of his performances, he broke into the Indian team as well.
Though he is currently out of contention for the Men in Blue side, former India cricketer Suresh Raina has high hopes for the Rajasthan leggie and even said that he had the potential to be like Afghanistan spin legend Rashid Khan.
Speaking on JioCinema’s ‘Next-Gen Superstars,’ Suresh Raina said: “If you see all the big bowlers who have earned their stripes in Test cricket, I think Bishnoi with his character and way of delivering the ball, will become someone like Rashid Khan.”
On the other hand, Pragyan Ojha suggested the name of Hyderabad batter Tilak Verma and said: “He’s from Hyderabad. I have seen his development since he was a kid. I am talking about him in U-15 and U-16 cricket and how hard he works. His schedule involves going to the ground at 6 AM and come home at 6 PM. He only takes a 30-45-minute lunch break. He is thoroughly dedicated.”
Tilak Verma had impressed one and all for India U19 and then for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2022 and is one of the players to look out for in the upcoming IPL 2023.
Former Indian pacer RP Singh, who was another expert on the show, picked young Mumbai opener Yashasvi Jaiswal as a future star.
“If you look at his batting in the domestic circuit, you can tell there is something different about him. His game-reading sense, his batting technique, or his know-how of how to end a match. The good thing about him is that even if he makes 50, he is looking ahead at his 100,” Singh said.
