Clarke was supposed to be part of global commentary panel for Australia tour of India | TwitterFormer Australia captain Michael Clarke is in danger of losing his commentary job for the upcoming Australia tour of India in the aftermath of his public fall-out with partner Jade Yarbrough in Noosa.

According to Daily Telegraph sources, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently reviewing the former Aussie batter's spot in the commentary panel. The Telegraph posted the video, recorded by a bystander outside a restaurant in Noosa on January 10, Yarbrough was seen accusing Clarke of cheating on her with celebrity fashion designer and ex-girlfriend Pip Edwards.

The former cricketer was slapped across his face despite repeatedly denying his claims.

Following this debacle, one of his sponsored gigs has pulled out, with another in doubt. The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age reported that a prospective sponsorship deal with a skincare brand was pulled within hours of the footage being published.

The commentary gig in India, estimated to fetch US$100,000 (A$145,000) would see the World Cup-winning skipper work alongside his fellow countryman Matthew Hayden as the Australian commentator on the broadcast.

Jade Yarbrough had even one time mentioned an India trip during their verbal altercation, hinting that he wanted to take his ex Pip Edwards to India with him.

On Wednesday night, Clarke told The Daily Telegraph: “I accept full responsibility for this altercation and am shattered by my actions.”

Queensland Police issued a statement on the incident on Thursday afternoon.

The statement read: “Queensland Police are investigating an incident between a 30-year-old woman and 41-year-old man depicted in footage at Lions Park on Gympie Terrace in Noosaville earlier this month. As this matter on January 10, 2023 is under investigation, the Queensland Police Service is unable to provide any further comment."
