All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been named in India’s squad for the first two Tests of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
However, his inclusion is subject to his fitness ahead of the first Test, slated to get underway on February 9 in Nagpur.
Notably, Jadeja had to leave Asia Cup 2022 midway to undergo surgery on his right knee. He is currently finishing up his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
On Friday (January 20), Jadeja took to Twitter and posted a video of him bowling in the nets, but with a protective tape wrapped around his right knee.
"Left arm around #priority," he wrote in the caption.
Notably, Ravindra Jadeja has not played any competitive cricket since August 2022 while his last First-Class match was the rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston last July.
The 34-year-old is reportedly set to feature in Saurashtra's final round of Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu, scheduled to begin on January 24 in Chennai.
"It will be good if he plays for Saurashtra. Probably he will, but I don't have any further details," Saurashtra Cricket Association president Jaydev Shah told PTI.
