Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay appointed captain of Karnataka Under-14 cricket team

Anvay will play the role of a wicketkeeper while fulfilling the job of a captain.

Anvay Dravid | TwitterIndia head coach Rahul Dravid’s younger son, Anvay Dravid, has been named the captain of the Karnataka Under-14 team in the inter-zonal tournament (South Zone).

Akin to his father, Anvay will also play the role of a wicketkeeper while fulfilling the job of a captain. He is regarded as a good batter for his age and has been rewarded for his consistency with the bat.

Back in 2020, Anvay had fallen short of a century but caught everyone’s attention for his brilliant fifty in the semi-final of the BTR Shield Under-14 Group I.

Meanwhile, the senior Indian team is performing exceptionally well under Dravid’s coaching. Recently, the Men in Blue defeated Sri Lanka in the T20I and ODI series at home.

India also got off to a winning start in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand in Hyderabad on Wednesday (January 18).

Riding on Shubman Gill’s 208 off 149 balls, the hosts piled up a mammoth 349/8 in 50 overs and then bowled out the Kiwis for 337 to register a thrilling 12-run victory.

“Just achieving his potential, many more to go,” said Rahul Dravid after Gill’s sensational knock.

The second ODI will be held in Raipur on Saturday (January 21).
