Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday (January 17) came out in defence of Babar Azam after the Pakistan skipper’s alleged private videos, intimate chats and voice recordings involving a girl leaked online.

While there was always a question mark over the authenticity of the clips, screenshots and audio, PCB has categorically dismissed them as 'unsubstantial'.

Justifying Babar's silence on the matter, the PCB said the Pakistan captain didn't feel it was 'worthy' of a response.

"As our media partner, you might have considered ignoring such unsubstantiated personal allegations which Babar Azam has not deemed worthy of a response," PCB tweeted quoting an Australian media report, which was later deleted.

While Babar Azam is yet to break his silence on this matter, he seems to be unperturbed by the social media storm.

On Monday (January 16), Pakistan’s all-format captain took to Twitter and Instagram to share his picture with a one-line caption: "Doesn't take too much to be happy."

Babar's post attracted sea of comments, with fans showing their support and urging him to stay strong.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam is already the scanner for Pakistan’s recent defeats at home against England and New Zealand. Under his captaincy, Pakistan suffered a 3-0 whitewash at the hands of England in the Test series last month while they played out a 0-0 drawn Test series against New Zealand before losing the ODI series 2-1 to Kiwis.
