India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on Monday (January 16) shared his health update for the first after he met a horrific car accident last month.
Taking to Twitter, the southpaw expressed gratitude towards his well-wishers, BCCI and the government authorities. Pant also revealed that his surgery was successful and the road to recovery has begun.
"I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. I am glad to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Thank you to the @BCCI @JayShah & government authorities for their incredible support," he tweeted.
Rishabh also thanked his teammates, doctors and physios for their support in his hard times.
“From the bottom of my heart, I also would like to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors and the physios for your kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to see you all on the field,” he added.
In another post on Instagram, Rishabh Pant stated that he is in good spirits and feeling better with every passing day.
On December 30, Rishabh Pant’s car collided with a divider on the Delhi-Dehradun expressway and caught fire, forcing him to break the car window and get out of the vehicle.
Initially, he was treated at the Max Hospital in Dehradun for multiple injuries. However, the left-hander was shifted to Mumbai for the treatment of his right knee, which took a major impact in the near-fatal accident.
As per the media reports, Pant is likely to be out of action for a minimum period of six months.
