Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shadab Khan was recently criticized on social media for choosing money over country, as he wasn’t picked for the ongoing three-match ODI series against New Zealand after he suffered a finger injury while playing in the ongoing BBL 2022-23.

Presently, Shadab is representing the Hobart Hurricanes in the ongoing BBL 12 in Australia. Well, on January 8, the star all-rounder took to Twitter to inform his fans about his finger injury, but ended up getting targeted by one of his fans.

A Twitter user criticized Shadab while responding to his tweet by saying: “Playing foreign leagues for money. Getting injured. Missing national team matches.”

Well, it didn’t go down well with Shadab, and the cricketer came back with a befitting response, as he explained how playing in foreign leagues has improved his performance and, in the end, it helps Pakistan.

Shadab wrote on Twitter: “Mere BBL experience ki wajah se meri performance Australia mai achi hui world cup mai. Playing in different conditions makes u better. Jahan mai national team ke liye select hon ga wahan hamesha national team ke liye khelun ga. Allah aap ko hamesha khush rakhay. (My performance in World Cup was good because I have played BBL in Australia. Playing in different conditions makes you better. I will always play for the national team when I am selected. May God bless you.)”

He added, “Finger injury kabhi bhi ho sakti hai. Pratice mai ball kisi ko bhi lag sakti hai chahay woh Australia ho ya Pakistan. Naye experience aur different conditions mai khel ker insaan seekhta hi hai. Aim yehi hota hai ke seekh ker Pakistan ke liye acha se acha kerein. (Finger injury can happen anytime. It does not matter if one is in Pakistan or Australia. A person gains experience and learns new things by playing in different conditions. My aim is to do well for Pakistan.)”

Notably, Shadab finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker for Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2022 with 11 wickets at an economy of 6.34 and scored 98 runs. Pakistan was the runner-up in the tournament.
