Rishabh Pant reaches Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for further treatment

Pant will be now treated by noted sports orthopedic surgeon Dinshaw Pardiwala in Mumbai.

Rishabh Pant | GettyIndia keeper-batter Rishabh Pant has reached Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for further treatment after he was airlifted from Dehradun’s Max Hospital where he underwent initial treatment after meeting with an accident while driving from Delhi to Roorkee on the highway.

His car caught fire after tumbling and sliding for quite a distance on December 30, and he was saved by a few good Samaritans before getting first aid at Saksham hospital in Roorkee. Then he was taken to Max hospital in Dehradun where he underwent further treatment and was stabilized.

His MRI scans were taken and it was found that he received no brain or head trauma, but had suffered cuts and bruises to his face, forehead, back, and more serious injuries to his hand, right knee ligament and ankle, and foot.

Pant, 25, also underwent plastic surgery for the abrasions on his back and cuts on his forehead.

On Wednesday, the BCCI said in a statement: “The Board of Control for Cricket in India have made all the necessary arrangements to shift India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant to Mumbai. Rishabh, who is currently receiving treatment for his injuries at Max Hospital, Dehradun following a car accident on 30th December, will be brought to Mumbai in an air ambulance.”

He will be admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute and will be under the direct supervision of Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, Head – the Centre for Sports Medicine, and Director – Arthroscopy & Shoulder Service at the hospital. Rishabh will undergo surgery and subsequent procedures for ligament tears and will continue to be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team throughout his recovery and rehabilitation. The Board will make every effort to aid and expedite the recovery process of Rishabh and will provide him with all the support he needs during this period,” it added.

On Wednesday evening, Rishabh Pant was airlifted out of Dehradun and has reached the Ambani hospital in Mumbai where he will be treated by noted sports orthopedic surgeon Dinshaw Pardiwala.
