India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant on Monday (January 2) met his rescuers for the first time at the Max Hospital in Dehradun following his nasty car accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand.

Pant was rescued out of his Mercedes by the two locals before it caught fire and burst into flames on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway on December 30, 2022. Later, a bus driver, Sushil Kumar, arrived at the accident spot and arranged for an ambulance for Pant, and called the police.

Pant was taken to a local Saksham hospital in Roorkee for first aid and was then moved to a specialty hospital in Dehradun.

Now Rishabh Pant is currently undergoing treatment at the Max Hospital in Dehradun, where he met Rajat and Nishu, who saved his life from the terrible accident, for the first time since his accident.

A local MLA named Umesh Kumar shared a picture on Instagram where the duo can be seen with Pant and his mother at the hospital.

In the picture, Pant can be seen heavily bandaged with a drip attached to his left hand. It is being said that he was shifted to a private ward from the ICU on Monday.

Meanwhile, sharing a picture on Instagram, Umesh Kumar wrote in the caption: “Rajat and Nishu, residents of Muzaffarnagar's Bucha Basti, who were the first to help Rishabh Pant at the time of his accident, visited the Indian cricketer and his mother in the hospital.

For the last three days, Rishabh has been continuously asking me to find these children. Rishabh told me that Haryana Roadways reached the accident spot after these children and rescued them.”
