Sachin Tendulkar | GettyHe might have retired from international cricket nearly a decade back, but Sachin Tendulkar’s craze among the fans hasn’t dipped a bit.

Recently, a video of fans chanting Sachin's name midflight went viral on social media. The batting legend had boarded the flight and the fans couldn’t control their emotions.

While Tendulkar wasn’t able to acknowledge the crowd as the sign to keep the seatbelts on was being shown, the cricket icon later thanked the fans for their unconditional love through a tweet.

"Thank you to those on my flight who were chanting my name a little while ago, reminiscent of when I used to come out to bat. Unfortunately, the seatbelt sign was on so I could not stand up to greet you. So saying a big hello to all now," Tendulkar tweeted while quoting the viral video of fans chanting his name on flight.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest batters of all time, Sachin Tendulkar played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs for India, scoring the world record number of runs (15921 in Tests and 18426 in ODIs) and centuries (51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs).

Tendulkar also holds the record for most runs, centuries, fifties in ICC Cricket World Cup and is the most capped player in Tests and ODIs.
