India defeat Bangladesh to clinch T20 World Cup 2022 for Blind; PM Modi congratulates

India won the T20 World Cup 2022 for Blind | TwitterIn the final of the 2022 T20 World Cup for the Blind, India got the better of Bangladesh to clinch a record third consecutive title.

The hosts were favorites before the final and they lived up to the expectations, thrashing Bangladesh by 120 runs in Bangalore to create history.

India batted first in the summit clash, piling up a mammoth 277/2 in their 20 overs. Sunil Ramesh and Ajay Kumar Reddy starred with the bat, slamming 136 not out and 100 not out, respectively.

In reply, Bangladesh managed only 157/3 in their 20 overs. Salman was the lone fighter with the bat, scoring 77 not out.

For their clinical performance in the final, the Indian team was lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter.

“India is proud of our athletes.  Delighted that we have won the T-20 World Cup for the Blind. Congratulations to our team and best wishes to them for their future endeavours,” PM Modi tweeted.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah also congratulated the Indian team, as he wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations to the Indian team for clinching their third T20 World Cup for the Blind title! The whole nation is proud of you & reveling in your victory. @dcciofficial”
