The second Test will be played in Multan from December 9 onwards | GettyAhead of the second Test of the three-match series between Pakistan and England, which will be played in Multan, a report has suggested that gunshots were heard just a few kilometers away from the hotel where the England contingent is staying.

Touring the Asian nation for the first time in 17 years, Stokes-led England registered a famous win over Pakistan in the series opener at Rawalpindi.

On the eve of the 2nd Test match between Pakistan and England, gunshots were fired in Multan. As per the latest developments, gunfire was heard near the England cricket team's hotel in Pakistan.

As per a report from the Independent, Pakistan police have made four arrests in the wake of the incident. Gunshots were heard in the wee hours before England left the hotel for training at the Multan Stadium.

The visiting team has been reportedly given a presidential level of security for the ongoing tour of Pakistan. The report added England's training plans for the 2nd Test were unaffected by the shocking incident.

Meanwhile, England announced that Mark Wood will play in the second Test in Multan, replacing Liam Livingstone who injured his knee in his debut Test match at Rawalpindi.

Pakistan is also expected to make a few changes, primarily as pacer Haris Rauf has been ruled out the remainder of series after injuring his quad.
