Indian cricketer KL Rahul and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty’s wedding date rumours continue to float on the internet, as the latest reports claim that the couple is set to tie the knot next year in early January.

Rahul and Athiya have been dating for more than three years now, and they are going to get married in January, for which Team India’s vice-captain has been granted leave by the BCCI.

According to a report in News18, KL Rahul requested the BCCI for leaves for some "personal work" without mentioning a specific reason, and later the leave was approved by the board, which means the right-hander will not be a part of India’s T20I and ODI series against Sri Lanka at home.

It is also being said that Rahul and Athiya are planning to get married in the first week of January 2023, and the wedding will take place in Maharashtra. It will be a private ceremony with only close friends and family members present on the occasion.

A BCCI source was previously quoted as saying by ANI, “KL informed me a few days back that he will marry Athiya next year. After that, a close family member from the girl’s side also told me the same. After the T20 World Cup, the team will go for New Zealand tour and after this, the wedding will take place in Maharashtra.”

However, the couple is yet to make an official announcement about the wedding, but it has been on the cards for a long time now, as Athiya’s father and veteran actor Suniel Shetty had already confirmed that the wedding will take place when they get the time from their respective work.
