Ahead of the first Test of the historic three-match series between Pakistan and England at Rawalpindi, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja said that the Babar Azam-led side must win against Ben Stokes and co. if the team wants to make headlines.
England has traveled to Pakistan for the first time for a Test series after 2005. Before this, in September, England had visited for s 7-match T20I series, which they won 4-3 under the captaincy of Moeen Ali.
Ramiz Raja, while speaking to reporters at the Gaddafi Stadium, said that if the national team wants to make headlines, they need to beat England in the Test series.
He also said that the present Pakistan team is capable of beating England and expects some sporting pitches in the Test series.
"I have given just one message to the players that if they want to make world headlines they have to beat England in the series. When Australia came earlier this year the pitches were freshly laid so they played differently but now they have settled down quite a bit and we are expecting more sporting tracks against England," Ramiz said.
The PCB chief also said that hosting Australia, England, and New Zealand in one season is a big boost for Pakistan cricket and hoped the tour by England would be concluded successfully.
