Jagadeesan became the first in List-A cricket to make 5 consecutive centuries | Ashwin Achal TwitterTamil Nadu and their batter N Jagadeesan had an amazing day out in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 50-over tournament at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on November 21, 2022.

After being invited to bat first by Arunachal Pradesh captain Kamsha Yangfo, Tamil Nadu openers Sai Sudharshan and Jagadeesan went after the bowling from ball one of the match and hapless AP bowlers just couldn’t do anything.

Jagadeesan carried off his good form to break many List A records in this match. He had scored 4 centuries in four matches before this match and added another one to his kitty, becoming the first player to hit five consecutive centuries in List-A cricket.

He went past the record of 4 tons set by Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara, South Africa's Alviro Petersen, and Karnataka's Devdutt Padikkal.

Eventually, Jagadeesan finished on 277 runs in 141 balls with 25 fours and 15 sixes to his name and had a very real chance to hit a triple ton as there were 8 overs remaining when he got out.

After individual glories, Tamil Nadu broke the record for the highest team total in List-A cricket of 498/4 set by England against the Netherlands and became the first team to cross the 500-run mark, finishing with 506/2 in 50 overs.
