WATCH: “You are one hell of a cricket player…” AB de Villiers extends birthday greetings to Virat Kohli

November 5, 2022 marks the 34th birthday of Indian batting great Virat Kohli.

On the special occasion, Kohli’s former RCB teammate and his good friend AB de Villiers also extended greetings to him.

In a video released by RCB on Twitter, De Villiers can be seen hailing Kohli as one hell of a cricketer and a much better human being.

AB also wished Virat good luck for the remainder of the T20 World Cup and expressed his wish to see India and South Africa facing each other in the final at MCG on November 13.

“I hope you’re doing well. I’m currently in Bangalore. Um, it’s quite ironic cause I’m sending you a message just to wish you a happy birthday on 5th of November. I hope you have a fantastic day. You are one hell of a cricket player, but you are a much better human being.

“Thank you very much for your friendship. Thanks for being a great teammate and just a great man. Happy birthday. All the best for the World Cup to you and the whole India team. I really hope you go all the way and have fun. Maybe find South Africa the final it will be very entertaining. Happy birthday, have a great day, and I’m thinking of you," De Villiers said in the video.

Virat Kohli is having a great time with the bat in the ongoing T20 World Cup Down Under. He slammed a match-winning 82* against arch-rivals Pakistan followed by scores of 62*, 12 and 64* versus Netherlands, South Africa and Bangladesh, respectively.

Having won three out of their four Super 12 matches so far, the Men in Blue are likely to qualify for the semifinals. They are due to take on Zimbabwe in their last group fixture at MCG on Sunday (November 6).
