Suresh Raina set to play for Deccan Gladiators in Abu Dhabi T10

Raina announced his retirement from all formats of cricket in September.

In Season 6 of the Abu Dhabi T10, one of India’s finest white-ball cricketers, Suresh Raina, will play for the Deccan Gladiators, the league's organizer announced on Tuesday (November 01) by putting out a tweet on their official handle.

“World Cup winner @ImRaina has signed for the @TeamDGladiators. One of India’s all-time finest white-ball players, Raina will line up in the #AbuDhabiT10 for the first time and we can’t wait,” the tweet read.

Raina joins a line-up that also includes Nicholas Pooran, Taskin Ahmed, Odean Smith, Andre Russell, Jason Roy, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

The 35-year-old, who along with MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, played for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL up until last season before announcing his retirement in September this year.

He was recently seen playing for India Legends in the Road Safety World Series 2022.

The dynamic southpaw has amassed 5,615 runs from 226 ODIs and 1,605 runs in 78 T20Is while representing his nation besides having 768 runs to his name in 18 Tests.

He is also the first Indian to score a century in all three formats of the game. The Men in Blue that won the 2011 World Cup at home had Raina at its core.
