India last toured Pakistan in 2008 for Asia Cup tournament | GettyThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be conducting its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 18 and one of the most important points on their agenda as per the communique sent to the state associations on Thursday was Indian team touring to Pakistan next year for the Asia Cup.

Pakistan is scheduled to host the 50-over Asia Cup in the second half of 2023 following which the World Cup will take place in India. And going by the AGM note, the BCCI seems to be open to traveling to Pakistan which has been a no-go area since 2008, when India had taken part in an Asia Cup.

Indian team, men’s and women’s, will play in four multi-team events next year. The Women’s team will play in the T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa and the U19 T20 World Cup, also to be hosted by South Africa.

The men’s team will play the Asia Cup in Pakistan and the ODI World Cup which will be played at home in India.

"It will be subject to the clearance of the Government of India as always," said a BCCI official to Cricbuzz.

Cricbuzz also mentioned that the BCCI officials were not willing to take a position, but the BCCI note seems to indicate something else given that Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, is the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Otherwise, the Asia Cup might be moved to some other country as it was done in 2018 when India was to host it, but it was moved to UAE due to political tensions between India and Pakistan.
