Incidentally, a week ago, Harbhajan Singh, who is also PCA’s chief advisor, wrote to association members, its district units, and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing the current president and his regime of indulging in unlawful activities.

He had written that the regime was trying to induct 150 members with voting rights to keep the balance in their favor, and it was done without notifying the apex council or general body and even without consulting the chief advisor.

Harbhajan Singh wrote that though he once supported Chahal, he had no knowledge of his motives and added that he wanted to keep Punjab cricket clean.

Now on Thursday, PCA president Gulzar Inder Singh Chahal tendered his resignation from the post with immediate effect and confirmed the same to The Indian Express, citing that he was resigning due to personal reasons.

Harbhajan Singh then dropped a tweet saying: “सत्य परेशान हो सकता है पराजित नहीं. Satyameva Jayate. (Truth can be harassed, but can never be defeated)”
