Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter, Mohammad Rizwan, showed the world a whole new avatar when he was asked to comment on the recent criticism of Pakistan's performances in Christchurch.

After Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 21 runs in the first match of the seven-match T20I tri-series on Friday (October 7) in Christchurch, Rizwan was asked by reporters about the Men in Green's recent home defeat against England and their performance in Asia Cup 2022.

To which, the star opening batter responded by saying that Pakistan is not playing to "answer anyone" while stressing that the players are also humans and they are working on their weaknesses.

They will next face the hosts, New Zealand, in the second match of the tri-series on Saturday (October 8).

Mohammad Rizwan said at the post-match press conference: “We are not here to answer anyone. We are doing our work by playing cricket. Those who are questioning, if they are thinking about the benefit of Pakistan, we salute them. We are also positive of Pakistan, and we feel they care for the side.”

He added, “We are trying, as players and even the team management, to focus and work on our weaknesses. We are humans, too. And I think we have done some improvement on them as well.”

Notably, Pakistan posted 167/5 on the board against Bangladesh in 20 overs, riding on Rizwan’s stunning knock of 78* off 50 balls in the first T20I on Friday. Defending the total, the Men in Green restricted the Tigers to 148/8 to win the match by 21 runs in Christchurch.
