South African Emeralds registered a convincing seven-wicket victory over Irish Olives in the fifth match of the ongoing Global Power Cricket League (GPCL) T20 at Yamuna Sports Complex Cricket Ground, Delhi on Tuesday (October 4).
Irish Olives skipper Ruhan Pretorius won the toss and elected to bat first. Riding on opener Durness Mackay’s 35-ball 61 and Ruhan’s unbeaten 52 off 37 balls, they posted 158/6 in their stipulated 20 overs.
Jordan Grobbelaar was the stand-out bowler for South African Emeralds, claiming two wickets by conceding 25 runs in his three overs.
In reply, the Emeralds rode on captain Robert Frylinck’s swashbuckling 69 off 33 balls to overhaul the target with 11 deliveries to spare.
For Irish Olives, Pavan Karthik was the pick of the bowlers as he took a couple of scalps and gave away only 11 runs in his four overs.
