Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Ramiz Raja, came up with a hilarious yet surprising remark on the hosts’ disappointing 67-run defeat in the seventh and final T20I against England in Lahore.

On Sunday, October 2, Pakistan badly failed to chase down a 210-run target in the series decider, managing only 142/8 in 20 overs to lose the T20I series to England by a 3-4 margin in Lahore.

After the T20I series loss on Sunday, Raja jokingly said that how could Pakistan let England go back home empty-handed, especially when they visited the country after 17 years. He also thanked England for making the historic Pakistan tour memorable and thrilling after the final T20I.

As reported by Hindustan Times, Ramiz Raja stated: “It has been a great privilege to host England. They came here after a gap of 17 years so how could we have not allowed them their trophy? We are not letting them go empty-handed but, honestly, they turned out to be the better side.”

The PCB chief continued, “It was a relentless, heart-racing series, except for the last two matches where Pakistan was clearly outplayed. A lot of things to learn for Pakistan but we are sending them with all our best wishes for the World Cup so I want our fans to back this Pakistan team.”

Raja signed off by saying, “Once again, thank you to England, it has been an honor and a privilege. We will see you again in the Test series, safe travels.”
