Taniya Bhatia, the Indian women's cricket team player, has slammed the Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale management for not responding to her robbery complaint on social media.
On September 26, Bhatia surprised many by claiming that her bag full of valuable personal belongings was stolen from her team hotel room in London. The wicketkeeper-batter asked for help from the Marriot Hotel and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), but she has yet to get any response from them.
Taniya Bhatia wrote on Twitter: “Shocked and disappointed at Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale management; someone walked into my personal room and stole my bag with cash, cards, watches, and jewelry during my recent stay as a part of Indian Women's Cricket team. So unsafe.”
She continued, “Hoping for a quick investigation and resolution of this matter. Such lack of security at @ECB_cricket's preferred hotel partner is astounding. Hope they will take cognizance as well.”
Meanwhile, after not getting any response from the hotel or the ECB, Taniya Bhatia once again tagged the hotel management and asked if they had initiated any action to find out the thief. The 24-year-old also urged the hotel team to share the update with her.
She wrote in her another tweet: “I still haven’t received any response from the hotel management @Marriott. This is quite disappointing. The items that were stolen from my room were both valuable and important to me. Has any action been taken since the theft? An update would be much appreciated.”
Well, it is disappointing to see the BCCI and ECB maintain silence on the matter despite the fact that the women cricketers were on national duty. She was part of India's women’s 3-0 ODI series win in England.
